In the spirit of cooperation and unity, the Pennsylvania Credit Union Foundation was formed in 1996 to benefit credit unions, non-profit organizations, and communities as an indirect result of support requested and given by Pennsylvania credit unions to assist those impacted by the Oklahoma bombing. From the start, credit unions have rallied around the People Helping People philosophy and the Foundation provides the vehicle to assist Pennsylvania's credit unions with serving others throughout the state, the country, and the world. The Pennsylvania Credit Union Foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable organization, and as such, is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization with a main purpose of providing credit unions and those within their communities with the resources needed to succeed. Our Mission Statement: The Pennsylvania Credit Union Foundation (PACUF) changes people's lives by promoting financial education, disaster relief, and credit union relevance. Some of the ways in which the Pennsylvania Credit Union Foundation works to help credit unions and other organizations include: • Supporting growth and development by helping small credit unions to survive and thrive • Supporting strategic planning and marketing activities by small credit unions • Offering educational scholarships and training for credit union staff and volunteers • Helping community development, low-income designated, credit unions serving the underserved to expand • Providing disaster relief grants • Partnering with the National Credit Union Foundation • Supporting financial education for consumers of all ages
