Cortex is a mining and drilling technology business that provides a range of automation, control and data analysis solutions to the drilling segment of the mining sector. Founder and Chief Executive of Cortex, Chris Hold, graduated from University of Sussex, majoring in Engineering; Robotics, Cybernetics and Process Automation. His expertise in industrial software has seen him become an in-demand consultant in Germany, Poland, USA, Turkey, Angola, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Japan and New Zealand. His work within the resources sector includes programming blast truck remote and autonomous control systems, drilling data monitoring, and autonomous controlled drilling. The company was formed in 2018 in response to demand for remote monitoring and analysis of operating data across customer drill rig fleets. Cortex is currently focused on exploration drilling and the launch and rollout of the company’s fully automated drill rig - Cortex Auto.
