The Childrens Center Utah

The mission of The Children’s Center Utah is to provide comprehensive mental health care to enhance the emotional well-being of infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their families. Since its inception in 1962, The Children’s Center Utah has continued to meet the diverse and ever increasing need for mental health services in the state. As the only agency of its kind in Utah, weekly referrals are as high as 30 to 40 new families seeking services for their young child. This extraordinary demand is reflected in referrals from every zip code in Salt Lake County as well as the surrounding counties. Currently, TCCU provides services to over 2,000 children and their families throughout the year. One in five children has a diagnosable mental health disorder. Children who live in poverty have an increased risk of mental illness. Adverse early childhood experiences can impact a child’s mental health and affect their cognitive, behavioral and social-emotional development. These risk factors make The Children’s Center Utah services imperative for these families who live in our community.
