The Central Queens YM & YWHA sustains and enhances the quality of family and individual life for all members of our community regardless of religion, ethnic or cultural background, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, or disability, within a pervasive and inclusive environment that facilitates individual growth, meets individual needs and builds community. Since 1973, CQY has provided a wide array of social, educational and cultural programs serving individuals across their life span, relocating into our current building in 1981. We now serve 15,000 people of all ages annually through after-school and summer camps for children; early childhood education; a parenting center; educational and employment services for young adults; a senior center; a full range of cultural and interfaith programs that are open to the public; a workforce center that provides employment programs, a food pantry, English as a Second Language courses and case assistance; and health and fitness services for all ages, including sports leagues and various athletic and recreational programs. In addition to programming at our headquarters, located in the diverse and immigrant-populated area of Forest Hills, CQY also operates off-site programs at schools and community centers in Flushing, Jamaica, Rego Park, and Astoria.
