Alacrity Academy
www.alacritycanada.comThe Alacrity Academy was founded in 2019 as a response to a rapidly changing business environment that required a strong emphasis on digital customer acquisition in place of in-person and other non-digital sales strategies. The need for brands and businesses to be seen, heard, and recognized online is more important than ever before. Alacrity addressed this by drawing on over 10 years of expertise in marketing, business development, and education to pilot the original Digital Marketing Bootcamp for its Entrepreneurship Program and Portfolio companies. Due to its strong early success, it quickly expanded to include students and businesses in the Victoria community and beyond. Alacrity Academy is partnered with the BC government’s Ministry of Jobs, Recovery and Innovation to provide access for small to medium-sized businesses in British Columbia, growing the student count from 8 to over 3000 students within two years of its launch. In the summer of 2020, the Academy adapted to online distance learning as a result of the COVID-19 and expanded its curriculum to address the immediate needs of the businesses affected by the pandemic. Students of Alacrity Academy’s curriculum develop skills in core areas of marketing to expand their business, sales, growth, and reach. To date, Academy alumni have reported increased profits, new career paths, and the creation of additional businesses using the skills they learned in the Bootcamp.
