The Challenging Ones
www.tcothetrust.comTCO, The Challenging Ones was initiated as a self help support group by Maj D P Singh, after his 1st Blade run, in 2011. AIM: a. To have a platform of discussion for any and every amputee or any of his close family, who have recently found themselves into this side of life. So that they do not have to reinvent the wheel and info sharing can be done. b. To hand hold fresh cases with personal examples of settled amputees in order to enable morale boosting. c. To push settled amputees towards sports and adventure in order to shape up their attitude to win over daily challenges of life and shine as Challenger, instead of a Challenged. TCO believes in internal growth of individual. Today, by sheer sharing personal examples & connecting as links with every new amputee, the TCO have grown to the family of 1900 amputees across India. As each achiever in TCO is a brand ambassador & influencer by his own examples, more than 1000 are such who have established themeselves into one or other sports/adventure activity. This has enabled and empowered PwD with most imp characteristic of personality, "Positive Attitude". These examples have also shifted the perspective of masses towards disability as PwD achievers are now no more taken as pain but inspiration to many abled body individuals. TCO is an NGO, duly registered and owns 80G certification by Govt for seeking funds and extend IT rebate to donors. Other than regular participations in various marathons, TCO has motivated various runs to become "Inclusive" by opening up registrations in all categories of run, for any PwD as per the choice of person, in which he or she wish to take part by bringing them at par with other runners. In last 3 years, TCO was able to spread the similiar awarness through running platform in smaller cities of India through SwachhAbility Run movement. In 3 phases it could cover 18 cities of Northern, Southern & Western India and touch based more than 55000 participants. SwachhAbility
