www.opencamps.orgOpen Camps is a community run, mission-driven open source conference bringing together dozens of technology "camps" that has grown to become one of the largest events in the world. Our mission is to foster greater contribution to, collaboration among and adoption of open source technologies. Founded in 2012, Open Camps has now hosted over 100 camps brought together under the umbrella of an annual Fall conference, as well as stand alone events through out the year, a youth tech education program, and various coding for a cause style programs ("Hack for Humanity") Open Camps partnered with the United Nations to hold the first ever Hackathon at the UN headquarters in NYC, with over 100 developers staying overnight at the UN to build solutions to critical world problems. In 2016, nearly 6,000 developers attended the main event, making it the largest event in the history of Open Source. Open Camps is dedicated to humanitarian hacking and initiatives relating to youth, women & diversity in open source.
