The Intercultural Institute of California (IIC) is a nonprofit English language school whose mission is to provide affordable, quality programs that empower our students to communicate across cultures. Since 1995, the IIC has been offering programs in English as a Second Language (ESL) and the iBT Test of English as a Foreign Language (iBT TOEFL) in the heart of San Francisco. IIC is accredited by CEA and upholds its standards of excellence in English Language teaching and administration. CEA is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a national accrediting agency specializing in the accreditation of English Language Programs. IIC offers five different levels of General English from elementary to advanced. These courses are designed to help students build their communication skills and their confidence in the English language to better prepare them for everyday situations. IIC’s iBT TOEFL preparation course is designed to improve students’ skills and build their confidence in the key skill areas. Special emphasis is given to test-taking strategies to help students achieve higher scores. IIC’s Business English class prepares students to use English in the world of Business. Speaking, listening, reading and writing skills are taught in Business contexts incorporating business vocabulary. IIC’s GRE/GMAT program is targeted at students wishing to take the GRE and/or GMAT tests. Students learn test-taking strategies and get hands-on experience integrating reading, writing, and math.
