SIMETRIA (Symmetry) - Nutritional and Social Equity Promotion - it's an intervention project addressing the improvement of institutional practices on equity to healthy food access as well as the empowerment of social and health professionals working with vulnerable populations. SIMETRIA falls under the Public Health Initiatives from the Ministry of Health, whose operator is Administração Central do Sistema de Saúde, IP (ACSS). It is supported by a grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. It is promoted by the Portuguese League for Social Prophylaxis (LPPS) is a Non-Profit Organization funded in 1924 with the aim of raising awareness, educating and positively act on identified social problems. LPPS activity focuses particularly on health issues, despite its statutory purpose also embraces inclusion and social welfare.
