ValeFest
www.valefest.co.ukValeFest is Europe’s largest student-run Charity Festival! We organise an incredible day of music, performances, and activities for our fellow students and the wider community. Held the day after summer exams end at the University of Birmingham, ValeFest has delivered a kaleidoscopic array of performances, presenting talent across 6 diverse stages including comedy, dance, and an epic headliner on the main stage to cater for all. Also, given that we are based in Birmingham, Vale Fest is an ethical and eco-friendly festival, providing an entire day and night of music and art across 5 stages. As well as new emerging artists and DJs from Birmingham, we've previously had headliners such as The Hunna and Fickle Friends. ValeFest was created to raise money for worthwhile causes. Over the last 16 years, we have raised over £200,000 for incredible charities that support causes such as mental health, cancer research, malaria, homelessness and victims of sexual assault. The festival is planned by a team of around 35 UoB students, who do everything from booking the acts to putting up the fences. Our committee works tirelessly to make the festival an enjoyable day out and to raise as much money as possible for our charities. The team is split into four sub-committees: - Ents (Book the acts for the festival/promo events and manage stages on the day) - Marketing (Organise promo events, manage our socials and design our merch) - Relations (Liaising with charities, gaining sponsorship and booking stalls/caterers) - Site (Organise site to optimise accessibility and sustainability, make decorations and book the marquees/fences) Find us on Facebook, Twitter (@TheValeFestival), Instagram (@valefestival) or our website (valefest.co.uk) and let us keep you in the loop with all the latest announcements and information! See you in June! - The Valefest Committee
