Taiwan Debate Union is a non-profit organization that serves as the largest and most prominent platform for competitive English parliamentary debaters in secondary and tertiary institutions in Taiwan. Established since 2014, we are the largest decision-making body for English debating interests in the Taiwanese debate community. Our aim is to further English debating, public speaking and critical thinking in Taiwan. The purpose of the Taiwan Debate Union is to: a) provide a platform for institutions to engage in and promote fair, rigorous and competitive national tournaments; b) select a national representative team to the World Schools Debating Championships (WSDC) and other prominent international competitions; c) train the next generation of Taiwan debaters through quality programs; and d) facilitate activities that would improve the debate community in Taiwan. We have thoroughly enjoyed our journey so far and thank our community for their support. We hope to continue to inspire young leaders to engage in topics beyond their classrooms. Since 2014, we have directly impacted over 300 debaters in various capacities. Our debaters have gone on to perform outstandingly at national and international competitions. More importantly, they have become catalysts for social change.
