Social Accounting and Audit was first used in India in 2003. CSIM offered to take up the Social accounting and Audit in India after the master class which was held by SAN UK in India in the year 2008. CSIM which is already an established institution for promoting social entrepreneurship felt that the framework is appropriate for Indian organizations and soon became the knowledge partner of SAN in India and is incubating SAN India so that it can expand its outreach across India.
