www.nazk.gov.uaThe National Agency on Corruption Prevention of Ukraine (NACP) is the Ukrainian central executive body primarily responsible for the formulation of anti-corruption policy and ensuring the integrity of public officials and political parties. The NACP started functioning in 2016, however, it was only in late 2019, shortly after the parliamentary elections, when the Ukrainian Parliament voted to introduce the transparent merit-based competition for the position of the NACP’s Head with several of Selection Commission members being nominated by Ukraine’s international partners (including the US and the EU). As the winner of this open competition, former prosecutor Oleksandr Novikov began to lead the Agency on January 15, 2020. Today some of the NACP’s functions include: Development of anti-corruption policy, including the development of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy. Verification of the asset declarations of public officials and maintenance of the state register of e- declarations of public officials with more than 780,000 e-declarations submitted every year. As of now, the register contains more than 6 mln documents submitted by public officials, which makes it the largest similar big data in the world. Control over political finance, the verification of the political parties’ reports, and maintenance of the register of political parties’ reports named POLITDATA. Ensuring public officials’ compliance with rules of ethical conduct and legislation on the prevention of corruption and conflicts of interest. Detection of corruption risks in provisions of the draft laws and draft regulations submitted to the Parliament and the Cabinet of Ministers. Coordination of whistleblowers' protection. Ensuring zero tolerance for corruption providing awareness-raising and educational campaigns.
