The South African Fashion Council (SAFC), is a not-for profit company, founded March 2012, funded by the Department of Trade and Industry (dti) to support and improve the fashion, clothing, textile, footwear, leather and leather-goods value chains of South Africa. The organisation’s aim is to develop the SA fashion industry in conjunction with its constituent stakeholders including designers, retailers, design houses, manufacturers, educational institutions, regional fashion councils, organised labour, national government and the fashion media.
