Victoria Finance Plc. (VFP) is a public limited liability company incorporated in 2009 in the United Republic of Tanzania Under the Companies Act, CAP 212 of 2002, but commenced its operations on 2nd May 2010 after obtaining the required business licenses to operate a microfinance business. Up until 5th May, 2014, the company was trading as Victoria Finance Limited, a private limited liability company. The promoters of VFP are Victoria Group (VG) through its investment company VG Holding Company Limited and individual members of the group. Victoria Group is a voluntary established NGO formed by members with common interests in social-economic wellbeing of its members and of their communities. Victoria Group is neither affiliated to any political party nor does it involve itself directly or indirectly in any political issues. VFP provides microfinance products and services to individuals, small and medium enterprises, SACCOS and similar groups, with the main target being the underserved communities in Dar es Salaam and Mbeya with a long term view of reaching the underserved communities throughout the country who may not be able to obtain such services from commercial banks and financial institutions. The company is dedicated in providing microfinance and micro insurance services to low and middle income households, youth and to the needy, particularly to the underserved communities. With the current low level of financial inclusion in Tanzania, we consider the development of microfinance institutions as one of the ways to improve the financial inclusion by reaching and proving financial services to the underserved class.
