COMMON GROUNDS LA works in the fields of living architecture and landscape design. We are interested in the way in which the built environment can be [re]configured, designed, poked and prodded, to achieve enhanced social and environmental outcomes for the future of urban settlements. The studio develops concepts through a collaborative and technological approach to design – responding to cultural, economic, and climatic influences emerging in the age of the Anthropocene. The hybridisation of typologies and disciplines, the retrofitting of existing urban landscapes, and the cultural and educational potency of these are all strategies pertinent to the work of COMMON GROUNDS LA.
