The Tiger Titans Cricket Club
We are the Tiger Titans Cricket Club, a youth empowerment project based in Nolukhanyo Township in Bathurst, South Africa. Since 2007, our development cricket club has been using sport as a positive tool for change in our community which is faced with various socio-economic challenges including high rates of unemployment and substance abuse. By encouraging a healthy lifestyle and providing opportunities for skills development and community service, the Tiger Titans offer a fun and safe space for young people living in Nolukhanyo. The TTCC was started by Ross McCreath when he was just 14-years-old during the long summer school holiday. Since then, we have grown and accomplished more than anyone could ever have dreamed of. Today, the Tiger Titans are managed by Ross' mother, Anne "Mama Tiger" McCreath, who co-ordinates the day-to-day running of the club and organises all matches, tournaments and skills development projects for our members. For the past few years, we have been without a full-time coach, leaving training to be taken up by some of our more experienced players, some of whom have achieved coaching level certificates. With limited governmental support and low reserves from previous sponsorships, we are always grateful for assistance in keeping our club sustainable. Any help towards this mission - by sharing our story or by donation - would mean the world to us. Let's connect! We would love to hear from you.
