After 40 years of delivering private tuition and teaching in person, I’m finally taking my first voyage into the digital world! Growing up multilingual in Greece and wanting to earn my own money at 20 years old, my first ever experience of teaching was with the neighbour’s children as my pupils. I taught them English and German, and seeing them progress helped me to know that education was the career path for me. It was in 1980 when I first started to offer tuition from my home, and I haven’t stopped since. Going on to achieve my CertEd in 1997, I’ve worked as a contracted substitute in schools across the East Midlands - most recently as a Maths Intervention Mentor at Sir Jonathan North College and Juniper Training in Leicester. For 7 years, I was also the Director of my own language training company. Now navigating this strange time, I hope that you’ll join me in this new teaching journey - and that you’ll agree that online tuition can be just as effective as within the classroom, as well as being convenient, flexible and fun.
