African Centre for Social Justice (ACSJ)
The African Centre for Social Justice (ACSJ) is an independent non-profit-making grassroots organization that studies of social problems on the African continent and Zambia in particular. ACSJ addresses them by recommending practical and workable policy interventions. It was established in August 2018. The organization is premised on the commitment to the democratic values of equality, justice and respect for marginalized populations. Our work incorporates two essential elements: firstly, research and the production and dissemination of information on social justice and related topics. Secondly, the struggle for an honest and fair politics of service delivery and positive transformation through education. The organizations members share a claim for social justice and engagement to build and improve a social order based on human rights, equality and justice for every human being. ACJS aims at ensuring civil society and every citizen participates effectively in the formulation of policies and implementation of projects and bottom-up approach is taken. The ACSJ is operating as a loose network of civil society organizations (CSO) consisting of various interest groups working towards sustainable development. The ACSJ tries to give hope and opportunities to those communities that are experiencing the worst injustices, that are stigmatized or disadvantages, a voice in development. ACSJ will influence the political discourse by putting social justice at the heart of African politics, leading to a transformation in governance and policy.
