Established in November 2019, Bete It is a South African non-profit organisation aiming to build a national community to support and empower Type 1 diabetics. Our main focus is to create a platform for advocacy, awareness and education.For type ones, by type ones. Bete It was formed through the power of social media, connecting 7 Type 1 diabetics and a dedicated Type 1 father. To this day the Bete It team has never met in person, as we are scattered throughout South Africa, but that hasn’t stopped us from achieving our vision as we are all passionate about advocating for Type 1 diabetes. Bete It recognised that there was a need for a South African non-profit organisation that caters for all age groups and focuses solely on Type 1 diabetes. This is just the beginning and we cannot wait to see what we can achieve as a Type 1 community in South Africa.
