Sister Connection
Sister Connection is a not for profit organization providing vocation training, microfinance loans, homebuilding, and sponsorship opportunities for widowed women and orphaned children in Burundi. In the 1990s, Burundi was ravaged by a brutal civil war. Today, the country is still struggling from the after-effects of extreme poverty and lack of opportunity. The war left many women widowed and children orphaned, Sister Connection was formed to help those who need it most. With the help of American donors and local Burundian staff, Sister Connection has built houses, provided vocational training, sponsorship opportunities, and microfinance loans to those in need.
