Ruhuna Science Research Circle

Ruhuna Science Research circle is a nonprofit organization started in 2014 which now has a strong research base across a spectrum of academic disciplines engaging in research at national and international levels. The University provides strong support for research activities taking into account the interests and expertise of students in this field of work. RUSREC members work in all areas of Materials Science and research including Physics, Chemistry, Biology…etc. RUSREC provides a collaborative environment for idea exchange across all disciplines of materials science through its meetings, community services and other programs designed to foster networking and cooperation. The Research Symposium of the University of Ruhuna is a unique event in the calendar of the university. The Annual Research Symposium was initiated as a regular event in 2016. The goal of RUSREC 2018 is to bring leading academics, researchers and scholars to exchange and share their experience and research results on all spheres to a common platform. The National Research Symposium in commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of the University of Ruhuna, 3rd Undergraduate Research Symposium 2018 is open for all undergraduates of state universities. Mainly aiming to disseminate new knowledge acquired through research conducted by the academic communities of the universities. As a result of the significant contribution to the advancement of the field of research, University of Ruhuna was awarded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) as the best research state university with the highest number of citations in 2018. Serving as a source of inspiration, the awards help to raise the profile of talented individuals of the University of Ruhuna, in addition to the profession as a whole. We RUSREC are proud to say that every single work we have done up to now has eventually fostered an environment for interdisciplinary collaboration, professional growth, education outreach, and leadership development.
