Manchester University Criminology Society

MUCS is the law school's Criminology society - our aim is to bring together any student studying Criminology as well as students who have an interest in the criminal justice sector. As an academic society, we aim to offer opportunities to learn new things in the field of criminology. MUCS brings in guest speakers from a range of criminological and legal areas. In recent years, we have conducted workshops with one of Wales' Chief Firearms Officers and even an ex-offender from the Strangeways Riots. This year we will strive to deliver talks that are just as engaging and interesting. Our aim is to create a sense of community amongst Criminology, Law with Criminology and Sociology and Criminology Students. Members from all years will be invited to our socials, along with friends from other courses. Membership is £1 all year and will grant you discounted access to academic talks, society events and the end of year formal. All the money received from memberships, donations, end of the year formal and other fees for events will go to a proposed Criminology linked Charity. Members can propose a charity they believe in, and it will be added to our list.
