GDG New Cairo [Google Developer Group - New Cairo] is a regional chapter located in New Cairo City, Egypt. Our mission is to spread awareness about the latest technologies in our community, so people can benefit their communities by developing helpful, useful, and entertaining stuff through using the knowledge and skills they gained from our events and activities. Google Developer Groups (GDGs) are for developers who are interested in Google's developer technology; everything from the Android, App Engine, and Google Chrome platforms, to product APIs like the Maps API, YouTube API and Google Calendar API. GDG New Cairo currently runs two programs under the main chapter's body. The first program is the Women Techmakers program, and the second program is the GDG GUC program. 1) Women Techmakers New Cairo (WTM New Cairo) is a supported global initiative from GDG New Cairo towards Google's Women Techmakers program, which provides visibility, community, and resources for women in technology. The program aims to empower women in the industry. GDG New Cairo was founded on 18th of February 2016 by Walid El Hefny and co-founded by Amr Attia. Initiative was taken on the 22nd of March 2015.
