2nd Act is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with headquarters in Boston, MA. With chapters in Providence, RI and Cleveland, OH. Creating Outreach About Addiction Support Together (COAAST) and Improbable Players bring a combined 40+ years experience to this merged organization as 2nd Act. Their programming utilizes drama therapy, applied theatre, and theatre education to address Substance Use Disorder. Programming includes SEL theatre classes in recovery high schools, drama therapy groups for people in long-term recovery, original prevention plays for middle and high schools, and a collaborative applied theatre program in the community that creates new plays centering voices of those in recovery and people in active use. Mission: We change the way people and communities respond to the impact of substance use through theatre and drama therapy.
