Quorum X Diagnostics has developed the first 4-minute at-home, COVID Antigen Test (pending EUA approval by the U.S. FDA). It's 'kinda like a pregnancy test but for COVID. The test, COVIDNOW, is able to detect an active infection for someone experiencing COVID-like symptoms as well as individuals that are asymptomatic. COVIDNOW is currently pending EUA approval for use as an over-the-counter product so you will not need a doctor's prescription in order to purchase the kits. This is not to be confused with an "antibody". QXD's at-home test will screen for antigens produced by the SARS-CoV-2 virus as opposed to screening for antibodies produced by the body after infection. Because results are displayed in real-time, there is no need to send the sample to a lab. The accompanying COVIDNOW mobile app provides step-by-step video instructions, has a built-in timer, uses AI technology to analyze and confirm test results, as well as provides official documentation of results electronically.
