This was a blog and twitter about trends and observations on the rewarding challenges of owning, renting and managing residential rental property in northern Colorado. I wrote it for folks who are building wealth by owning rental property and are managing the business themselves. I put this project "on hold" while I get a property management company off the ground. Once it's up and running profitably, I intend on returning to DIY landlord education. Managing property is not that difficult, it just takes some knowledge--and a willingness to roll up your sleeves, get after it, and learn. To help people gain knowledge, I plan to use my instructional design background to create a DIY landlord educational program. Training accelerates the learning process, and cuts down on "trial and error." Granted, mistakes are the greatest teachers, but they can also be expensive.
