Akwan For Holistic Learning is a centre that hosts kids and teens (6-18 y.o.) in clubs throughout the year and in summer and winter camps. This project is a result of our team’s passion and diverse experience of work in the education field, and a response to a need for a safe and motivating space for the youngest in the society to grow and progress. Our methodology is intersectional and is based on the following idea: “critical mind, empathetic heart, healthy body.” Through our activities, we cultivate these three elements in parallel, following a holistic approach. That is because we think that knowing the self, seeing the world through a critical lens, having capacity to define feelings and express them, and developing a healthy relationship with the body, are essential elements that form a balanced and healthy human being, able to interact with the self and the world truly and responsibly.
