Grand Valley Council of Teachers of Mathematics
The GVCTM is an opportunity for any student with an interest in mathematics education to collaborate with their peers, share resources, listen to and engage with experienced math teachers, and develop a community of support, scholarship, and service. We advocate for high-quality mathematics teaching and learning and work to shape the lives, the professions, and the community for all students with an interest in mathematics education, by providing a public voice and source of leadership and by engaging in active scholarship and public service. We strive to create a sense of community among students with an interest in mathematics education as well as a support system whereby fellow students can help one another as they progress through their programs and prepare for their careers by collaborating with their peers and engaging with experienced teachers of mathematics. We also gather periodically to discuss relevant issues in the teaching and learning of mathematics, and to coordinate efforts to participate in regional and national efforts related to math education, to foster a culture of equitable, high-quality mathematics education.
