Logic Centre and Community Welfare Association
Logic Centre and Community Welfare Association (LCCWA) is a non governmental organization based out of Powai in Mumbai. LCCWA works to impart supplementary education and inculcate positive values amongst under-privileged children. Our beneficiaries live in the slum areas near Powai, Mumbai, namely Phule Nagar, Indira Nagar, Surya Nagar, Garib Nagar and Chaitanya Nagar. They study at municipal schools or low-resourced private schools with very high student : teacher ratios leading to low levels of academic achievement. LCCWA was founded in 2012 by a group of eminent citizens of Powai including retired professors of IIT Bombay, to work towards the development & upliftment of children living in nearby slums. LCCWA enables all-round development of these children by providing daily classroom coaching, weekly computer training, free nutritious meals every evening and regular health check-ups and hygiene education. Apart from helping to improve academic performance, the centre also helps reduce drop-out rates from schools and imparts social skills as well as a positive value system. Eventually, these are the qualities that we believe enable children to become responsible and pro-active citizens of the country.
