Sheridan Mooting Society
Mooting is the legal format of a debate competition: where debating uses a parliamentary-style and argues a resolution, mooting uses a courtroom style and argues an appeal. We intend to introduce patrons to the world of mooting through workshops and intramural competitions to enhance their oral advocacy and argumentation skills. Fostering growth in mooting and public speaking abilities as well as strengthening practical and theoretical knowledge of the law lies at the core of this society. We are also working to broaden our outreach to non-legal students studying areas such as Social Work and Political Science or any other diploma offered at Sheridan.
