Broadway Near You aims to dramatically expand the market by producing high-definition “stagecasts” of A-list theatrical productions for distribution first in cinemas, and subsequently in all media, worldwide. We will also add the best of Off-Broadway and regional theatre to our programming mix. By bringing high-end, star-driven productions -at an affordable price - to both dedicated and casual theatregoers in their local markets, BNY will build a substantial base of subscribers and users. The Metropolitan Opera has already proven this model works with its "Live in HD" series. The market for plays and musicals is substantially larger than for opera. BNY will take advantage of both existing and emerging technologies. For example, most movie theatres are now equipped with high definition projection equipment and are efficiently connected through satellite or digital networks. For the home market, we will offer our titles through broadband, mobile and physical media. We aim to own all rights to our titles, so we can be “platform agnostic.” Broadway Near You has already achieved several important milestones, including raising $1.8M of seed capital, producing its first show, executing “first look” deals with three key producers, and concluding two cornerstone distribution deals.
