Happy Hearts Working, Inc.
Happy Hearts Working is dedicated to bridging individuals with developmental disabilities following high school into a Christian environment, which includes securing purposeful work opportunities, serving others through volunteering within our community, continuing life skills development and establishing social connections to instill a healthy, faith filled life with others. Our Goals Adults with disabilities can be productive members of the work force. We strongly believe that all people with disabilities have many abilities. We are all disabled in one way or another, but we adapt and work with the skills that we can offer the world. These young adults have spent their entire life in the school atmosphere and that is where they feel most comfortable. We have chosen schools as our target workplace within the community for that very reason. Happy Hearts Working has created a business model which includes our associates completing work tasks successfully within the structure of schools across the Kansas City metropolitan area, giving these seemingly unemployable people a change to work for full wages. We will be providing a stable, secure work environment with a one-on-one dedicated Job Coach. We are currently seeking partnerships with individual schools to assist in developing job descriptions at their school specifically geared toward the disabled. When our associates are not working, they will primarily be at our Headquarters on the west side of the metropolitan area. The activities will be geared toward the advancement of Life Skills as most can not live independently. There will be dedicated time for both structured and unstructured fun activities to give them an opportunity to make friends. Once all objectives of the Pilot Program have been met, we will be opening more centers across the Kansas City metropolitan area so those in our extended program can be closer to home and their workplace. Watch for us @happyheartsworking
