Philippine Student Association of Minnesota (PSA)

The Philippine Student Association (PSA) is the oldest Asian-American student group that was established at the University of Minnesota. It traces its roots from the 1940's when the first Filipino students came to the U. The group strives to build a strong community through Filipino and Filipino American-themed events and programs. Ultimately, PSA is motivated to having its members become ambassadors of Filipino culture. Everyone from all cultural backgrounds is encouraged to attend our events/meeting Please list your principal activities, events, or programs. - Ate Kuya Ading (AKA) Program: Mentor/Mentee Program (All Year) - Family Member (FM) Meetings: General Assembly Meetings (All Year) - Philanthropy Events: General Assembly Driven (Fall and Spring) - Filipino Americans Coming Together (FACT) and Midwest Filipino American Summit (MFAS) Conferences: Midwest Cultural Engagement, Fall and Spring - Annual Philippine Culture Night (Spring Semester) How do your activities benefit the University community? The Philippine Student Association benefits the University community by providing an opportunity for students, faculties, and the community to engage with the Filipino and Filipino-American culture, as well as promoting diversity and advocacy with the student body. How can someone get involved with your group? For example, do you have a consistent meeting time, location? Do they need to fill out a membership application? Who should they contact for more information? If you would like to get involved with the Philippine Student Association, please email psa.umn@gmail.com. Feel free to reach out to any of the listed officers by phone or email as well. Also, you can visit the Asian-American Student Union Room (Coffman 226) and ask about PSA!
