Syrian Refugee Project

The Syrian Refugee Project, is a community project founded in 2015 by Javier Barreto-Gomez at the University of British Columbia. The project, which raised over $7500 in funding, provided humanitarian aid for landed Syrian refugees in the form of clothing and food donations. Consisting of an executive team and 298 student volunteers, the project helped increase domestic efforts in ensuring the safe transition of Syrian refugees coming into the Lower Mainland.
