The purpose of this group is to connect Natural Language Processing (NLP) practitioners and business innovators in London. As a Solutions Architect for NLP at AWS I see a wide gap between businesses that want to leverage the power of NLP and experts in the field. This group attempts to fill this gap by demonstrating how NLP applications based on the latest research can help businesses drive innovation. You should join this group if you are working in a business that wants to leverage AI and Machine Learning to drive innovation, save costs, and enable the business to work on more meaningful tasks. From my experience working with customers, businesses in the Financial Service Industry, Legal, and Healthcare & Life Sciences are especially interested in harnessing NLP as their industries deal with a lot of unstructured text. You should also join this group if you are an AI/ML or NLP practitioner and want to learn how your expertise can help businesses drive innovation. It's, in my experience, straightforward to create an app that demonstrates NLP capabilities. It's, however, much harder to drive adoption of your idea. Business stakeholders are interested in learning how a potential application or ML model can impact their business targets. In this group will enable people from both sides, research and business, to connect in meaningful ways. We will organise meetups in which we demonstrate the latest NLP applications and how they can be used in the business world. We will have Q&A sessions in which group members can ask and answer questions about how to build these NLP applications. Businesses will be able to learn directly from researchers about the possibilities of state-of-the-art AI research and NLP practitioners get a chance to learn more about the challenges these enterprises face.
