We are the local hub of +SocialGood, +SocialGood is a global community of changemakers convened by the United Nations Foundation. Social Good Peru is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower young people to take climate action. The youth organization promotes the participation of young people in decision-making spaces in local governance. In this way, we seek to promote that the voices of young people can be channeled effectively into local governance and influence the formulation of public policies to face climate change and other socio-environmental challenges. Social Good Peru participated as a youth organization giving contributions throughout the process of formulation of the Local Climate Change Plan of the Province of Lima. In addition, Social Good Peru also participated as a youth organization and interest group of young people giving contributions within the framework of the updating process of the National Climate Change Strategy 2050 led by the Ministry of the Environment. In addition, Social Good Peru conducts training and awareness campaigns in climate change. Social Good Peru is a member of: UNEP Major Group for Children and Youth; YOUNGO-Youth NGOs in UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change); PCCB (Paris Committee on Capacity-building) Network; SDG 7 (Sustainable Energy) Youth Constituency of the UN Major Group of Children and Youth; and a member of the C-20, one of the eight official G-20 Engagement Groups which provides a space through which global civil society organizations can contribute in a structured and sustained way to the G-20 (Group of the richest industrialized and emerging countries).
