It started for me back in 1980. I moved to Phoenix from Sumter South Carolina. Being a military brat, I ran across all kind of people from everywhere all over the United States. I met some kids from out of New York and New Jersey and they brought with them some WBLS and KISS FM mix tapes. We used to listen to DJs; Chuck Chillout, Kool DJ Red Alert, Mr Magic's rap attack, Marley Marl"s in control radio show, Tony Humpries, Latin Rascles master-mixes all day and night until we got the next shipment of cassette tapes each month from friends and family in New York, and Jersey, and that is where it all started with me. I started out with two pair of belt driven turntables, Some of yall know what i'm talking about. We started a crew and began our journey from the west-side of phoenix. A highlight of mine was 1991 when Public Enemy tour "Apocalypse 91... The Enemy Strikes Black" came through the west side community center "The DUB" and allowed us to dj the after party bringing that famous song "By the time i get to Arizona".
