SAE stands for ‘Society of Automotive Engineers’, and promotes everything automotive. The word ‘automotive’ comes from Greek “autos”(self) and Latin “motivus”(of motion). Anything that moves on its own is automotive! Over 90,000 engineers and scientists, who are SAE members, develop technical information on all forms of self-propelled vehicles including automobiles, trucks and buses, off-highway equipment, aircraft, aerospace vehicles, marine, rail, and transit systems. SAE NITK tries to encourage the propagation of automotive knowledge among the students of NITK.
