Project Sarangi

Project Sarangi is a Social Enterprise organization that understands, values the conservation of traditional Nepali music and instruments and also created a platform to learn and harness opportunities. It was started with the realization that traditional folk music and instruments are a dying form of art and expression and that there is a very need of preserving it. Project Sarangi was initiated as a way to motivate, to uphold and rejuvenate such dying art forms along with creating new and unconventional platform for our younger generation musicians and artists. We aim to encourage young musicians while also mainstreaming Nepali folk music and traditional instruments into the modern Nepali as well as the Global music scenes. We have been closely working with the standardization of folk instruments as well as trying different methods to incorporate traditional music and instruments into modern music. Also Project Sarangi has been able to successfully organize events such as JAMARKO, Sarangi Bhela and school workshops (for children) to promote Nepali folk music and musicians. We believe in creating a platform for younger generation of musicians and guide them to pursue music and also to keep them motivated to keep their love and passion for music.
