Project Araw-Aral
Project Araw-Aral is an initiative advocating for equal access to better education through renewable energy. It aims to develop a solar energy-powered co-studying space in unelectrified communities in the Philippines, starting with Barangay Laiban, Tanay, Rizal. This co-studying space will serve as a classroom during class hours and a co-studying space after school hours. It will be powered by solar energy through the installed Solar PV System which was designed to sustain the project’s operation for about six hours a day. Providing such co-studying space can help the students get better learning experience and improve their academic performance. In the long run, this project aims to address the inequality in education by equipping the students with skills to contribute to the digital and scientific world - creating better career opportunities, and uplifting their respective communities. Inspired by the Filipino words "araw" meaning sun, "aral" which pertains to learning, and "araw-araw" that translates to every day, Project Araw-Aral dreams of a future where clean energy empowers the youth to seek learning and make a difference in our country.
