Sunshine and Daisy Mobile Food Pantry
Sunshine and Daisy Mobile Food Pantry was officially founded in September of 2020 after operating under the umbrella of two other not-for-profit organizations since November of 2016. The name Sunshine and Daisy came from one of our friends who lived on the street. He called us Sunshine and Daisy whenever we would bring him food. While the mission of Sunshine and Daisy is feeding people, Sunshine and Daisy have also undertaken a few side missions helping animals in need and providing holiday surprises for our families and friends. We enjoy the connection and relationships with our families and individual friends. We currently receive a weekly food donation from a large American chain of supermarkets that specializes in natural and organic foods. We also accept food donations from individuals. To donate non-perishable items email us at sunshine73daisy@gmail.com to schedule a donation pick-up. We distribute our food donation to approximately 30+ families who live in homes in the Memphis area and up to 100 individuals who live on the street or in alternative prefab or handmade shelters. Pre-pandemic we allowed families and individuals to shop for the items they needed from our bins and coolers, for safety during the pandemic we are pre-preparing bags of food for our friends. Our 2021 goal is to purchase and re-purpose a small school bus so that people can shop for their own needs on the bus. We anticipate the start-up for the school bus will cost us between $10,000-$15,000. This includes purchasing the vehicle and refrigeration/freezer/shelving supplies. To donate towards our bus fund contact us at sunshine73daisy@gmail.com. All bus fund donor’s names/business logos will be featured permanently on the outside of the bus.
