Baja ÉTS
The BAJA SAE College Competition Series is one of many international engineering events hosted by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). The Baja ÉTS team has been participating since 1989 and is currently the best Canadian team on the circuit. It has earned the reputation of being one of the best teams in the world thanks to the number of podiums won in our history. Moreover, since the start of the competitions, only one team has managed to reach the 1st position in the three official competitions in a season, and that is us, in 2005! Every year we design and build a new off-road single-seater vehicle that stands out for its looks, performance and technology. Competitions include static events where the team is judged on the basis of our design choices, the cost of producing the vehicle as well as our sales pitch. Then, dynamic events like the acceleration, suspension, climb and handling challenges allow the team to accumulate points. All of these events lead to the last and most important event: the endurance race. During this event, all the cars take part in a 4-hour race on a difficult track, designed to push the limits of the bajas and the pilots. The team which accumulated the most points during the competition wins.
