Saigon Rugby Club was formed in 1992 by a group of expatriates and Vietnamese keen to welcome visiting teams and tour the region participating in regular tournaments. As the only rugby club in Saigon we welcome men and women of all ages and nationalities. Apart from regular mixed touch rugby we also have women's contact team the Lady geckos, a men’s contact team the Saigon Geckos and an old boys team (over 35yrs) the Saigon Dirty Geckos. Since September 2017, the club has it's own junior section, the Sagion Rugby Academy for boys and girls from 6 to 14 years old. Mixed touch rugby takes place most Saturdays from 1.30pm to 3.30pm at Parkland residence in Thao Dien, District 2. Members are asked to pay 100.000 vnd, and non members 200.000vnd. (free for Vietnamese nationals and high school students). Yearly membership cost 800.000 vnd which includes a club polo shirt, membership cards, and all benefits offered to our members by our sponsors. It is a very social afternoon, where you can sub on and off at will. Water is provided by the Club and shower facilities are also available at the ground. Contact training takes place most Thursdays at 7.00pm at the Australian International School, Thu Thiem Campus, district 2 for men, and at The American School for ladies at 177A, 172-180 Nguyen Van Huong St, Thao Dien Ward, District 2. but please contact us for exact details. The Saigon Rugby Club runs the Clubhouse Bar on 25 Tran Ngoc Dien in Thao Dien D2.
