In 2017, recognizing that the Upper West Side’s Modern Orthodox Jews in their 20s and 30s were not being adequately served by local synagogues and community organizations, BAbayit began operations. We felt that that group who grew up with religious Zionism, no longer had a forum for it post-high school. The idea was to create meaningful and interesting social events, while providing informal Zionist education and instilling a deeper connection to the Jewish people and the land of Israel. Who: people 21+ looking for a creative, religious, fun, social, tzioni, and chill space for growth and community. Where: 175 West 76th Street When: ALWAYS - this is your space! Come Friday night dinners, weekday challah bakes, soup nights, ping pong tournaments, chaburas, concerts, shabbos kidushes, and any event you want to run. Just let us know and the space is yours. What: A Bnei Akiva community on the UWS for young professionals. Why: Because Jewish communal life does not happen on its own and we all need a place where we can be BAbayit.
