We are a mother-daughter duo who works to share our food from beyond our home kitchen to the busy streets of New York City. Starting out as a simple hobby of my mother’s, baking was a way to keep a piece of her home country close with her — a sweet bite of Kuih was a sweet memory of Malaysia. After much practice she perfected her recipes and began to bake for our friends and family. They were enticed by the bright palettes and rich flavors and fascinated that every dish was created all without harmful additives. We decided we wanted to take our love of desserts to the next level. We are here to show New Yorkers Malaysian cuisine beyond curries and satays. Our menu consists of traditional Kuih, savory dishes, as well as one-of-a-kind fusions of Malaysian and Western desserts. You can find traditional Kuih flavors and ingredients like pandan, ube, and blue pea flower, combined with cheesecakes and mousse cakes all at Kuih Cafe.
