McMaster Association of West Indian Students
The McMaster Association of West Indian Students (MACaws) creates a sense of community among West Indian students through various social and charitable events. This student-run organization also provides an opportunity for all McMaster University students to experience and learn about the West Indian culture. The MACaws' main role is that we work directly with The Caribbean Children’s Foundation, donating proceeds from our events to this charity which partners with SickKids Hospital to give emergency medical treatment to children in the Caribbean. We work extremely hard during the year to maximize our revenue so that we can provide this charity with great financial support in order to achieve their goals. Last year, the MACaws donated $5000 to The Caribbean Children’s Foundation.
