Presidency Foundation is established by Presidency Group of Institutions, Bangalore, comprising of Presidency University, Presidency Colleges, Presidency Schools. Presidency Foundation has the mandate to implement the CSR activities of the Group. Presidency Foundation has established a Skill Development Centre at KG Halli, Tannery Road, Bangalore in August, 2017. Located close to the urban poor residential pockets within the BBMP wards KG Halli, Kushal Nagar, Nagwara, Muneshwar Nagar and Kaval Bairasandra, it is possible to mobilise the needy beneficiaries. Being close to the Tannery Main Road and also a bus stop, the centre is easily accessible for the students. The facility spans an area of 4000 Sqft area in a G+3+Covered Terrace structure. The Ground floor houses the reception, staff office and meeting room. The higher three floors and the terrace provides the space to conduct four courses simultaneously. Each of the class rooms can comfortably seat 30 students with lab setup. Equipped with a lift and backup power generator, CCTV and biometric attendance the facility can operate securely and without interruption. At present we are running Beautician and Retail Sales training for the school/college dropouts who are looking for employment. The programme is offered on pro bono basis for the youth to become employable. We have over 100 students already going through the programme, and another 100 registered for the next batch.
