Bleed the North

Bleed the North (formerly PERIOD Ontario) works to serve menstruators in Ontario and provide menstrual products to those who cannot afford or access them. We promise to see the ways in which menstruators are affected by their periods and learn about those who experience menstruation and period poverty differently than we do. Bleed the North works to achieve this aim in three ways: 1. Servicing menstruators who are unable to access/afford menstrual products through the provision of care packages. 2. Advocating for legislative change in order to allow for better representation of menstruators within parliament that will allow us to achieve our long-term goal of eliminating period poverty and period stigma within Canada. 3. Providing educational resources and working with municipal and provincial school boards in order to ensure Canadian curricula do not present any unintentional biases or prejudices towards the topic of menstruation. We have currently served over 300 menstruators, and are actively partnering with new shelters to better expand our reach. If you are in need of menstrual products, please visit our website to fill in the anonymous request form. If you would like to hear more about us, or get involved with the organization, please contact us through our website.
