DECLICSUD
Created in late August after the 2016 Mandela Washington Fellowship, DECLIC (Integrated Civic Leadership & Community Development) is a pioneer organization bringing together motivated young leaders with atypical careers. DECLIC presently counts 50 members among which are 6 Mandela Washington Fellowship and 44 local members. DECLIC members are all multidisciplinary young professionals and volunteers who bring along solid backgrounds in community service through projects and programs dedicated to thousands of vulnerable children, women and youths. Those project include and are not limited to Social Entrepreneurship, Public Management, Civic Leadership, Children Rights and Protection, Health, Education, Environment, Humanitarian… As young people coming from underprivileged backgrounds from which they shaped themselves, DECLIC members have great youth capacity building skills, inspired by a deep understanding of young people’s essential needs. DECLIC members combined their know-how to build young people’s capacity and resilience in order for them to be able to take the challenges they’re facing in Casamance, Senegal and Africa. Our vision at DECLIC is that the Young Underprivileged playing their role as change makers and our mission is to Take the Leadership Challenge for the Common Good. That’s why DECLIC members work at developing young people’s leadership and competences so they can fully seize opportunities to improve their lives and communities through lasting projects and fairly distributed sustainable resources.
